Takeoff online: – Selling “cursed wedding dress”

– The advertisement is cool, but it would be nice if it was sold, it would be even cooler, Christine Sommerfelt (30) told Dagbladet.

When what, after much planning, should have been a beautiful wedding went down the drain, the Tønsberg-based tot posted the white wedding dress on Finn.no.

Months passed and the dress was hanging and taking up precious space in the wardrobe.

Then Sommerfelt decided to take an unusual step.

“Wedding dress, only tried on when the wedding goes to hell!!”

Perhaps it’s no surprise that sale ads stand out from the crowd of wedding dress ads in digital marketplaces.

There is little humor and profanity to be found among the seemingly timeless boring photographs of church aisles and flower fields across the country.

In January, the tot decided the dress had been on sale long enough, and placed an ad.

“Come and try. And better buy one, so I can get rid of that damn dress that’s taking up too much space in my closet!!” Sommerfelt wrote in the ad.

Since then, the reaction has not been long in coming, he said.

– It really took off. I didn’t envision this when I did the advert – I just envisioned that I would be able to sell it, says the 30-year-old, who states that she has a good portion of gallows humor.

Opt for a more naughty tone

Sommerfelt told newspapers that he only has fond memories of his relationship with his ex-fiancé. The pair met through social media and quickly hit a chord.

After the couple got engaged, things moved quickly, even though they lived in different countries. The wedding was actually supposed to take place last summer, but it didn’t turn out that way.

Among other things, the ad has been shared several times on the Facebook group “For those of us who are fascinated by images on Finn.no (and other sales channels)”, with over 54,000 members.

– I see a lot of humor in that. I got a message from someone saying there seems to be a bad vibe and I may look bitter, but there really isn’t any bitterness about it. Life is smiling, says Sommerfelt, who says sales laugh at his job too.

By Tuesday, the ad had been viewed more than 10,000 times. After taking off, she’s received a slew of questions, a splash of friend requests – and a hilarious proposal.

– To be honest, I’ve already met someone I’m dating, so I’m not looking at all, says Sommerfelt, which can reveal that the new flame has asked for help for its Finnish ad.
