Touching message before he died

Interview

After the victory, Wardell stood in the studio until BBC Scotland and talk about victory. He jokes and laughs when he talks about a stab in a race that could win him.

– I’m a little too trained to handle a stab. But to be honest, the stab was a bit disastrous. But I just have to keep going. I felt confident that I would be able to catch up with the leaders and win in the end, so I gave my all. What else can I do? said the cyclist in the interview.

Two days later he fell asleep.

– We have little information at this stage, but we send our love and support to his family, friends and everyone in our community who knows him.

Heartbreaking

But today, Wardell’s wife Katie Archibald (28) came up with heartbreaking details about the death, according to BBC.

Archibald, who is also an Olympic and world champion on track cycling, said he was desperately trying to revive the man lying next to him in bed.

He now expresses his immense sadness.

– I thought you had heard that Wed died yesterday morning. I still don’t understand what happened or if this is true. Why did he die from me now, so healthy and happy? He had a heart attack while we were in bed. I tried and tried to save him and the paramedics arrived just after a few minutes. But his heart had stopped and they couldn’t bring him back to life, he wrote, among other things Twitter.

Archibald added:

– I love him so much. I really need it here. But he’s gone and I can’t describe the pain.

Former road racer David Millar from Scotland expressed his sadness.

– Very sad to hear that Wed Wardell has left us. Very difficult to understand, he wrote Twitter.
