Dominican professionals will receive advanced training in various areas of technology

MESCYT sent 326 scholarship recipients for doctoral and master programs to Europe, Mexico and the United States

A significant group of 326 scholars selected during the Call for International Scholarships 2023 by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT) will receive advanced training in various fields of technology and computer science.

Beneficiaries will study more than 16 master’s programs in robotics engineering, design and management of technological projects, artificial intelligence and computer science, mathematics, international logistics, supply chain management, strategic directions in telecommunications, engineering and infrastructure management, in the field of public health and data science among others.

While other beneficiaries will specialize in more than 15 doctoral programs in the fields of education systems and environment, strategic analysis, and sustainable development.

The doctoral and master’s programs will be pursued at more than thirty-five universities located in Mexico, Spain, England, Australia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and the United States.

Eligible students will study programs at universities: Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE), International Iberoamericana (UNINI), Berlin School of Business & Innovation (BSBI), Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA), Institute of Conscious Management (CMI Business School), Humboldt International University, José Ortega y Gasset – Gregorio Marañón Foundation, among others.

The act of handing over accreditation to scholarship holders was led by the head of MESCyT, Dr. Franklin García Fermín, and director of International Scholarships, Roselia Pérez.

The doctoral and master’s programs will be pursued at more than thirty-five universities located in Mexico, Spain, England, Australia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and the United States.

The official assured that the scholarship recipients were from the provinces of Bahoruco, La Altagracia, Dajabón, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, Azua, San Pedro de Macorís, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Duarte, National District, Pedernales, Barahona, Azua, Espaillat , Santo Domingo and La Vega.

Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the award-winning scholarship holder, Ceferino de Jesús Medina Peralta, originally from the province of Espaillat, is grateful for the opportunity that MESCY has offered him, to be able to study a master’s degree in advanced mathematics at the University of Seville, Spain.

Present undersecretary José A. Cancel, Genaro Rodríguez Martínez, Juan Francisco Viloria, Paula Disla; director of the Cabinet, Juan Medina, and advisor to the Executive Branch of Higher Education, Francisco Vegazo, as well as representatives from the international university Anahuac Cancún. Mexico, Grace Gómez, Emma Chauffeton French Campus, Prifysgol University Bangord Elisa Toro.

The scholarship year is 2023.

Mescyt reports that so far this year it has awarded 1,4219 international scholarships by order of President Luis Abinader. In June, a total of 713 scholarships were awarded; in July 380, and 326 this August 9, 2023, during the actions that were held in the Mescyt open field.
