Dozens of foreigners have been killed, injured or kidnapped by Hamas in Israel

Honduras’ deputy foreign minister, Gerardo Torres, said it was “confirmed” that a Honduran citizen was killed in a Hamas attack on a commune near the Gaza Strip.

Dozens of foreign nationals were killed, injured or taken hostage following attacks launched on October 7 by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas against Israel, which left more than 1,400 people dead on the Israeli side, including several Latin Americans and Spaniards.

In the Gaza Strip, the local government put the death toll at at least 2,750 people in Israeli bombings launched in retaliation.

According to an AFP count, authorities in each country confirmed more than that number of deaths 160 foreign nationals, many of them also have Israeli citizenship.

Hamas took some 199 Israeli citizens, foreigners and dual citizens hostage on October 7, according to the latest report from the Israeli government.

Below is a list of foreign victims in Israel, according to the latest information published on Saturday.

– USA: 30 dead, 13 missing and several hostages – At least 30 US citizens were killed and 13 missing, the State Department said on Sunday.

President Joe Biden reported on Tuesday that Americans were also among those “held captive by Hamas.”

– Thailand: 28 dead and 17 hostages – Twenty-eight Thai citizens were killed on Israeli territory and 17 were kidnapped. 16 others were injured.

About 30,000 Thais work in Israel, mainly as agricultural workers.

– French: 19 dead and 13 missing – France’s death toll rose to 19 and 13 missing, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said on Sunday at the end of her visit to Israel.

– Russia: 16 dead and 8 missing-According to a report published Saturday by the Russian embassy in Tel Aviv, 16 Russian citizens were killed and eight were missing.

“At least one Russian citizen, who also holds Israeli citizenship,” is being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas, he added.

– Nepal: 10 dead – Ten Nepalis died in Alumim Kibbutz (south), which was attacked. This kibbutz accommodates 17 Nepali students.

– Argentina: 7 dead and 15 missing – Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the deaths of seven citizens and the disappearance of 15 others.

– Ukraine: 7 dead and 9 missing – Kyiv Foreign Ministry confirmed that seven Ukrainians were killed and nine others were missing.

– Canada: 5 dead and 3 missing -The Canadian government said five of its citizens had died. The other three are still missing.

– Great Britain: 4 dead and several missingAt least four British citizens died. The Israeli Embassy in London confirmed the deaths of two people on Wednesday. The other deaths were confirmed by family.

According to the BBC, 17 British citizens, including children, were killed or missing. The government has not confirmed the figure.

– Romania: 4 dead, one missing -On Saturday, Romania announced the deaths of four of its citizens, including a Romanian-Israeli soldier. Citizens of other countries are missing.

– Austria: 3 dead and 2 missing – Austria’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that three of the nationals died and two others remained missing.

– Belarus: 3 dead and 1 missing – The Belarusian Embassy in Tel Aviv announced on Thursday that three of its citizens had died “under tragic circumstances” and another was missing.

– China: 4 dead and 2 missing – China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that four Chinese nationals died and two were missing.

– Philippines: 3 dead and 3 missing – The Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Friday that a 49-year-old Filipino had died at the music festival. Likewise, two Filipinos were killed at a kibbutz in the attack. Three Filipinos are missing.

– Brazil: 3 dead -A man and a woman with dual citizenship of Brazil and Israel were killed in a Hamas attack. Another Brazilian died in the attack, according to Brasilia.

– Peru: 2 dead and 5 missing – Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports two of its citizens dead and five missing.

– South Africa: 2 dead – South Africa’s foreign ministry said on Friday that two of its citizens were killed in clashes between Israel and Hamas.

– Portugal: 1 dead and 4 missing -Lisbon announced the death of a person of Portuguese and Israeli nationality and the disappearance of 4 other binationals.

– Chilli: 1 dead and 1 missing – Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports the death of a compatriot. Another Chilean is missing.

– Türkiye: 1 dead and 1 missing – The Turkish government on Friday confirmed the death of a Turkish-Israeli citizen, who had lived in Israel since 1972. Another is missing.

– Spain: 1 dead and 1 missing – The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday announced the death of a Spanish-Israeli citizen, who, according to the press, was carrying out military service in barracks near the Gaza Strip.

Chilean authorities confirmed the disappearance of another Spanish citizen who was married to a Chilean woman.

– Colombia: 1 dead and 1 missing -Bogotá announced the death of a Colombian citizen and noted that another citizen was missing.

– Honduras: 1 dead -Honduran Deputy Foreign Minister, Gerardo Torres, said that “it has been confirmed” that a Honduran citizen was killed in a Hamas attack on a commune near the Gaza Strip.

– Australia: 1 dead – Foreign Minister Penny Wong reported the death of an Australian woman in the attack.

– Azerbaijan: 1 dead – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday indicated that one Azerbaijani citizen died.

– Cambodia: 1 dead – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet confirmed the death of a student of this nationality who was in Israel.

– Ireland: 1 dead – The Irish government confirmed on Wednesday that a 22-year-old Irish-Israeli woman had died.

– Switzerland: 1 killed -A Swiss-Israeli citizen in his late 70s, who had lived in Israel since 2004, was killed in the attack, according to the Swiss government.

– Germany: eight hostages – The German government said on Saturday that there were “8 known cases” of German hostages being held by Hamas and being held in Gaza.

– Mexico: 2 hostages – Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena wrote on the social network X that two Mexicans, a man and a woman, were being held hostage.

– Paraguay: 2 missing – Paraguay’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported the disappearance of two Paraguayan citizens living in Israel.

– Italy: three missing – Italy’s Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, stated on Thursday that three Israeli-Italian citizens were missing.
