BOE publishes election progress
He The official state bulletin (BOE) issues royal decrees dissolving Congress and Senate and from calls for a general election for July 23.
The ruling goes into effect this Tuesday, so today Cortes will be disbanded until August 17, the day of the meeting of the resulting chambers at 10:00 in the XV constitutive and legislative sessions to be established.
According to royal decree, The election campaign will last for 15 days: it will start at zero o’clock on Friday, July 7, the festival of San Fermín, and will end at twenty-four o’clock on the 21st.
In implementing article 162 of the General Election Regime Organic Law (LOREG) 52 constituencies were establishedwhich correspond to each of the fifty provinces of Spain, as well as the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
He July 23, 350 deputies to be elected, with Madrid being the province with the highest number of seats (37)same as in the previous 2019 call, followed by Barcelona (32), Valencia (16) -which will have one more seat than in the last general election- and Seville and Alicante with 12 seats.
According to royal decree in each provincial constituency four senators will be electedin island districts, three will be selected in Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Tenerife and one in Ibiza-Formentera, Menorca, Fuerteventura, Gomera, El Hierro, Lanzarote and La Palma.
