Parody Twitter account of the game show MTV Challenge received a gold tick after posting violent videos and images.

Accounts that have the handle @ChallengeMTV are not associated with MTV Or a game show. The account also has the words #MTV in its bio. It is not known how holders obtain the “golden tick”, which is reserved for official, verified business accounts that pay $1,000 per month.

Throughout the account’s timeline, which appears to be devoted to comments and memes referencing the event MTVusers have posted violent videos like street fights and fights.

Twitter also suspended fake accounts with the brand Disney Juniors from social media platforms. The account also does not appear to be affiliated with Disney. The account holder tweeted “no way” this morning in the UK, an obvious reference to verification.

Twitter also made headlines this morning after Britain First, a far-right political party, was given a gold tick. Paul Goldingleader of a right-wing party, previously convicted of religious harassment of Muslims.

The group is barred from entering Twitter in December 2017 after violating the social media platform’s rules against hate speech. The ban was lifted shortly after Elon Musk’s inauguration.
