García Fermín invites RD students in London to lift the country

Head of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt) highlights President Luis Abinader’s commitment to preparing Dominican youth

London, England. – Minister Higher Education, Science and Technology, doctor Franklin Garcíto Fermín, advising young Dominicans studying at UK universities to uphold the prestige of the Dominican Republic, with ethical conduct and dedication in their academic obligations.

In a meeting with a group of students, the official pointed out that Dominicans are trying to get them to study, therefore, they should take advantage of what people give them.”

García Fermín commends the academic performance shown by students receiving scholarships from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt) to pursue various degrees at the UK’s most prestigious universities.

“You have the privilege of studying at world renowned universities here in London,” he said.

The official highlighted the efforts made by President Luis Abinader so that the country has a young generation that is ready in all fields of knowledge.

He stressed that the Dominican president has a very clear vision of the challenges facing the Dominican Republic in a more competitive world in science and technology.

During the meeting, the Dominican Ambassador to the UK, Elnio Durán, expressed his satisfaction with the behavior of young people studying in the country.

The Dominican government, led by President Luis Abinader, sends more than 2,000 students each year to prepare for the highest levels of universities in the world.

The UK academic centers where Dominican studies are studied are the universities of Oxford, Newcastle, Middlesex, Harper Adams, Portsmouth, Bangor, Wolverhampton and Edinburgh Napier.

García Fermín participated in the World Forum on Education, held in London on 23, 24 and 25 May, an event he used to reaffirm agreements with universities in European countries.
