Gervais brings David Brent to life – NRK Culture and entertainment

Ricky Gervais really broke through to become one of Britain’s leading comedians with “The Office” (2001-2003). In its time, the series was broadcast on NRK. The original series was one of the BBC’s biggest successes and also received an American spin-off series.

Ricky Gervais created this series with Stephen Merchant. Gervais plays the character of David Brent – the boss of the failed Wernham Hogg paper company. It’s Burning Actually will be a rock star.

The fact that the real-life Ricky Gervais actually tried to become a pop star in the 80s with the group “Seona Dancing” is also part of the story.

That’s how many people remember him, David Brent’s character from “The Office.”

And now David Brent is serious again. For the first time, the world would truly hear what kind of talent this man possessed. In this new film, we follow Brent and his group, Foregone Conclusions, on tour. The film will be released in UK cinemas on August 19, while Netflix will stream it from winter.

“David Brent: Life On The Road” will be released as a theatrical film and album in the UK on August 19, 2016.

But before that, David Brent and Foregone Conclusion will play a concert at the Hammersmith Apollo itself in London on September 8 and 9.

On the same occasion an album with the same title as the film will also be released, in LP, CD and digital form Super luxury edition.

Here comes the new single, “Lady Gypsy” (see video below!) and new songs such as “Please Don’t Make Fun Of The Disabled” and “Equality Street”, as well as famous songs from the TV series: ” Freelove Freeway ” and “Paris Nights”.

– Even though the song is funny, it is not a comedy song, says Ricky Gervais NME.

– David Brent didn’t think it was funny. He said it was important. And actually, it’s not a bad song. And they are very interesting. But the tragedy comes naturally from a 55-year-old man who sings rock songs about traveling around America and raising senoritas or tries to destroy racism by singing reggae songs, Gervais further said.
