One of Britain’s most famous comedians is coming to Norway.
It recently became known that British comedians Jack Dee and Stephen Merchant will come to Oslo to appear at the Oslo Comedy Festival which will be held in the capital from October 10 to October 26.
Now it’s clear that another famous comedian will be making the trip from the UK to Norway in October. On October 26, Al Murray will perform in Oslo before coming to Bergen on October 27.
Murray is one of Britain’s most popular comedians and has been performing humor for twenty years. For Norwegians, this Englishman is probably best known from the BBC stand-up programs “Live at the Apollo”, “QI” or “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow”, where he Murray is mainly known for his character “The Pub Landlord” – a nationalist The stereotypical Englishman in a red suit with a beer in hand who loves everything British and hates everyone else. The French and Germans in particular shy away from “Pub owner” language.
Murray has been hailed as one of Britain’s best comedians and in 2007 he came 16th when Channel 4 TV viewers voted for the island’s 100 best comedians.
Acomic Soul press officer Elisabeth Norheim is thrilled that Murray is coming to Norway and the Oslo Comedy Festival.
– Al Murray is everyone’s favorite pub philosopher and a satirical genius. He’s played all over the UK, including the O2 arena, and will embark on a major anniversary tour of his home country in the autumn. He actually only had three days left. “We are therefore very happy that he took those days to come here to entertain his many fans in Norway – the rest of Europe will have to wait until next year,” wrote Norheim in his press release.
As well as being funny on stage, Murray has published several books, appeared on a number of TV comedy shows, and made historical documentaries (!). The comedian studied modern history at university.
Apart from Al Murray, you can also catch Stephen Merchant, Jack Dee and a number of other famous comedians in October during the Oslo Comedy Festival. See the full picture at festival website.
