This afternoon the monarchs received in the Alhambra the heads of state and government attending the summit of the European Political Community, whom they will entertain with dinner in the same area, a world heritage site.

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia were received upon their arrival at the Alhambra, by the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and his wife, Begoña Gómez, in Partal Park.

Sánchez and his wife were in charge of welcoming the participants first on the terrace of Arrayanes, the axis of the Comares Palace, which has a central pool 34 meters long and on the long sides stand two large fences of myrtle trees, which give a special impression. name for this space.

Later, in the Courtyard of the Lions, the monarchs greeted international leaders and their counterparts, who together took the traditional family photo of the summit, which was attended by nearly fifty leaders from continental Europe.

After family photos, the leaders can attend a flamenco performance by singer Marina Heredia and, later, enjoy cocktails in the Parador, located in the grounds of the monumental complex, with an Andalusian menu by two-Michelin-star Cordoban chef Paco Morales.

The dinner for the Granada Summit was attended by, among others, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenand president of the European Council, Charles Michelas well as the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The European Union High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs was also present. Josep Borrellwho have taken this opportunity, like many other participants, to snap and photograph at this architectural gem, which is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its designation as a National Monument.

President of France, Emmanuel Macron; the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz; prime minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni; or the Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa, also attended the reception.
