Manchester United – Massive protest: Club takes action

Outside Old Trafford, massive protests have formed against United’s owners, the Glazer family.

“Fight against greed, fight for United, against the Glazers”, read one banner.

Supporters believe that the American owners are enriching themselves at the club and not giving enough back.

According to local newspaper Manchester Evening News, the club has opted to close the club shop due to the protests.

Protests against United’s owners are not a rare sight. Ahead of the clash between United and Liverpool in May 2021, thousands of fans stormed Old Trafford in protest against the American owners.

Then the supporters created a fire with red smoke near the bus of the players – and they sang anti-Glazer songs. The Old Trafford raid came just two weeks after the Super League flop.

The match was eventually postponed from May 2 to May 14.
