Meloni praised British immigration policy before Sunak

MADRID, April 27 (EUROPEAN PRESS) –

The Italian prime minister, far-right Giorgia Meloni, praised the UK’s immigration policies this Thursday in the presence of his British counterpart, Rishi Sunak, in London while dozens of protesters protested the visit of the Italian ‘prime minister’ at number 10 Downing Street.

“The fight against human traffickers and illegal immigration is something both of our governments do very well: I follow their work and I completely agree with it,” said Meloni, compiled by Rai News.

However, several dozen protesters supporting migrant rights gathered around 10 Downing Street to declare their rejection of the arrival of the Italian Prime Minister in Great Britain, with ‘Get Out’ and ‘No to fascist Meloni’ banners.

During their meeting, the two discussed the “close relationship” between the two countries, not only noting bilateral relations, but also cooperation through the G7 and G20, as well as Ukraine as a backdrop.

This came after a scandal caused by the words of the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, who is a member of the Brothers of Italy, Meloni’s party, and who warned of “ethnic substitution” in the country.
