I have to admit that I had high hopes for the Netflix series “Harry and Meghan,” but I found the first three episodes uninspiring, a little unappealing, and with too much of an embarrassment of “pillow TV.”
Unfortunately, the dukes have nothing new to announce in what they claim to be a documentary.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Prince Harry hates the British press, that Duchess Meghan has broken up with her father and half-brother, or that she has problems adjusting to life as a royal.
Maybe I’ve been fooled by the wildly successful PR campaign leading up to this series, but I had been thinking, or maybe hoping, that the Duke and Duchess would follow up their sensational interview with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey in 2021 with a little more explosiveness. “.
Netflix series “Harry and Meghan”
The private revelations of the inner chambers of Europe’s most talked about royal houses are always exciting. But the first three episodes contain, with the exception of a few vague hints, little criticism and revelations from and about the British royal family.
So for now, neither King Charles nor Prince William have anything to fear. But I have a feeling that the next three episodes will overshadow the family’s Christmas celebration at the Sandringham House. I don’t think Harry and Meghan have an opinion on the new royal couple or the Prince and Princess of Wales at all.
However selfish a couple may be, they probably won’t be able to shut up about things they feel and think are unfair. Regardless of whether it involves the immediate family and the British royal family.
Promotional clips for the next three episodes suggest I was right. There, Prince Harry more than pointed out that he and Meghan were betrayed in light of the fact that on January 9, 2020, they abandoned their royal duties and moved to the United States.
– They are happy to lie to protect my brother, but they never want to tell the truth to protect us, said Prince Harry.
– I was not thrown to the wolves. They feed the wolves with me, says Duchess Meghan in the clip.

Kingdom reality series
Harry and Meghan never said who they were, but we may get some answers in the episode released on Thursday December 15th, which will probably offer up more drama.
In the first three episodes, it seems the most important thing for the pair is to keep their brand hot in the media. Which is quite the contradiction for two people who claim to be stepping back from royal duties to lead a normal family life – away from the glare of the media.
It’s almost unbelievable that these two, desperate to reconcile, let viewers into their private lives further than any other royal has ever had. This is not a TV documentary to me, but a royal reality series. Where the main culprits, and only they, know the truth.
Which made me think of “The Crown”. The series has recently been criticized for its approach to the truth, and had to determine that it was fiction.
I also think there’s a lot of approximation of truth in the series about Harry and Meghan. It’s not objective truth. Everything is told through their personal experiences and feelings. And many of the questions you as a viewer ask are never answered.
My impression of the crudeness of truth is reinforced by the revelation that three of the sequences to depict the paparazzi’s siege of the Duke and Duchess were taken from events in which neither Harry nor Meghan or any of the other royals were present.

Weakened credibility
It’s also kind of funny that Harry has a different version of how he met Meghan and the other episode the two were in on the series, from the one he recounted earlier in an interview with state channel BBC. It doesn’t really increase credibility.
I was also reacting to the fact that Harry seemed to think he was the only sane one in the family, and that he had to take action to save Meghan from the press and the royal house and ensure that she did not suffer the same fate as her late mother Princess Diana.
Both he and Meghan are generally portrayed as very self-centered and self-assured in the series, and I don’t think they would find more supporters among the monarchy in Britain. They were tired of all the whining from the couple who supposedly made a billion kroner off the series.
But in the US, which is presumably meant for the “glossy” Netflix series, they’ll probably find a legion of new fans. Because as commented jokingly King Harald in connection with Princess Märtha left her royal duties.
-America doesn’t understand the importance of this. They don’t know what the royal house is!
