Agency | LARA PRESS.- the diplomat Colin Dick will become the UK’s new attorney general for Venezuela. This was reported on Tuesday, August 15 by the country’s embassy in the city of Caracas.
“I am very excited to represent great Britain in the Venezuelan. I am grateful and happy for the kindness of the Venezuelan people,” the official said in a message posted on the Embassy’s social network.
Dick will take over his position starting this month, taking his place Becks Buckingham, who has served as temporary attorney general since August 2021.
The official who has held a diplomatic position since 1990 was assigned to it barbados and it Caribbean between 2013 and 2017. He also served as department head and managing director British Department for the exit European Union from 2017 to 2019 and served as the managing director cabinet office from that country.
Besides that, Dick has served in Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in London, even as a private secretary to a minister FCDO. He already had a goal before Singapore, Brazil and Barbadoswhere he served as deputy high commissioner and, later, charge d’affaires.
Even though the relationship between Venezuela and England remained tense since 2018, after the non-recognition of that year’s presidential election, in 2021 they accepted Becks Buckingham to strengthen relations between the two countries, according to Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time.
