This week, a new university ranking, the QS World University Rankings 2024, was published, in which 3 Chilean study houses are among the 10 best in Latin America.
Regarding the world list, the best ranked is the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), which is close to 100th place, up almost 20 places compared to the previous 2022 measurement.
According to the classification, PUC ranks first in Chile, ranking 103 worldwide, followed by the University of Chile (159) and the University of Santiago, Usach (410).
At the indicator level, Chilean institutions perform very well on reputation-related metrics, according to the expert opinion of some 240,000 employers and academics from around the world.
However, they seem to have a hard time attracting foreign students, based on the teacher-student ratio.
Specifically, the ranking measures 9 indicators, of which two of Chilean universities improved compared to the previous year (Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation).
Thus, the ranking of the best Chilean universities in the world 2024 is as follows:
- 103. Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC): Before 121
- 159. University of Chile: Before 167
- 410. University of Santiago de Chile (Usach): Before 465
- 567. Adolfo Ibáñez University: Before 751-800
- 601-610. Concepcion University: Before 601-650
- 681-690. Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso: Before 751-800
