– We bring a clear presentation of how we train and want to play. I think many have confirmation that there is a very good plan there. We’ve been accused of not having that, and that’s completely wrong. But the fact that we haven’t done well with the trends we saw last year is true, said Kjetil Rekdal.
It’s now a board meeting in Rosenborg, in which a repressed Rosenborg coach has taken part.
Kjetil Rekdal reports that he is still Rosenborg’s coach.
– Yes, he said to TV 2.
– What’s taking so long?
– They have other things to deal with too. In the sports section, we present and live how we work, play, play and try to play. It hasn’t changed from day one. We gave the board a very good analysis of how things are looking, and how we will rise and move forward, Rekdal replied.
– Did you receive a request from the council?
– No, but everyone understands that nine points in nine games is not good. And then we have to make sure that we start moving up the table, manage to play better football and score more goals. Last year’s season was pretty good, and then this year it’s not so great. We had the same challenges in the first half of the season as we had last year. Everyone looks on. Now it’s about the same.
When asked if he felt compelled to get results, for example, in his next two matches, he replied:
– No, I have no impression of that. We also follow the club’s preferred strategy of lowering the average age, costs and having a team with development potential. We have it now, but it’s not going as well as we thought it would. We have to accept that.
Rekdal and his assistant Geir Frigård smiled at the press as they walked out of the meeting shortly after 6 p.m. Moments later Frigård walked into the press room for coffee. When asked if they had a job, he replied:
– You should take it with someone else, you might be told!
