Spain and Portugal have recently experienced extreme temperatures, with over 40 degrees. There were also severe forest fires.
By the weekend, it will also have a big impact on the UK, France and the Benelux countries, according to the StormGeo forecast.
In Britain, heat warnings have been issued for the first time in history, with temperatures of up to 40 degrees expected on Monday.
Heat hits Norway
Over in Norway, the weather is cooler, but that looks to be turning around this week. The Meteorologist in charge of the Storm, Olav Krogsæther, can tell us that.
– On Tuesday and Wednesday, the intense heat from the European heat wave will sweep over us, and we will get temperatures of up to 30 degrees in southern Norway.
He said that Wednesday would probably be the hottest day. The heat is settling all over southern Norway these days, and it’s getting hot in both the west, south, and east.
The air will then continue over Northern Norway.
– The air will continue northward on Wednesday, and on Thursday and Friday Northern Norway will be nice and warm, with temperatures around 25 degrees in much of the north, Krogsæther told Storm.
stabilize
The heat then moves further east, with temperatures dropping from Thursday for southern Norway or Friday for northern Norway.
So there won’t be a long-lasting heat wave in the country, but meteorologists say it will be warmer than ever. The weather will stabilize at slightly milder levels for the foreseeable future.
The reason it’s not as hot as it is in the south of Europe is because the warmest air doesn’t reach as far north.
