CC.OO. proposed the formation of a consortium company between Renfe, Adif and FGC to operate Rodalies

CC.OO. from Catalonia will propose the creation of a consortium between Renfe, Adif and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) to operate daily commuter services, which will be a kind of subsidiary of the joint venture in the future State Generalitat Rodalies Cataloniato avoid labor problems during transfer.

The transfer of Rodalies was one of the points agreed between PSOE and ERC in the context of the coronation of Pedro Sánchez, which included constitution of a commercial company with the name Rodalies Catalunyawhich will take over Renfe’s material and human resources in the community and its board of directors will be divided between the State General Administration and the Generalitat.

Unions have repeatedly expressed their concerns about the impact this move will have on workers, despite the fact that the new Transport Minister, Óscar Puente, has committed to “respect and safeguard at all times” the social-labor rights and permeability rights of all employees at both public companies.

In a statement to EFE, secretary general CC.OO. from Catalonia, Javier Pacheco, has assured that what his union, together with the UGT, is proposing is that “There is no need to transfer workers” to Rodalies Catalonia, because there is a formula to avoid “labor conflicts”he argued.
