As is known, in coastal areas, wine is the main export product of agriculture, representing 17% of shipments in this productive sector. Ica and Piura led the export of this fruit, recording shipments of US$ 605 million (+32%) and US$ 488 million (+10%), respectively. The region concentrates 87% of the country’s wine exports.
Other regions selling wine overseas are Lambayeque, with US$71 million (+21%); La Libertad, with US$67 million (+45%); and Arequipa, with US$ 19 million (+1%).
Similarly, the main destination markets for wine shipments are the United States (US$ 514 million/+10%), European Union (US$ 239 million/+31%), Hong Kong (US$ 128 million/+34%), United Kingdom ( US$68 million/+26%), Mexico (US$54 million/+40%), China (US$44 million/+22%), and South Korea (US$43 million/+119%). / Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism.
