Duchess Kate got all the attention when Queen Elizabeth invited Donald Trump to a dinner.
US President Donald Trump (72) and his wife Melania Trump (49) arrived in England for their state visit on Monday this week.
The same evening, Queen Elizabeth (93) was invited to a dinner at Buckingham Palace. However, Duchess Kate (37), who is always neatly dressed, stole the attention of Americans.
The Duchess has chosen one beautiful creation in white with frills and frills from the fashion house Alexander McQueen. This brand is one of Kate’s favorites, and she also chose a wedding dress from the same designer in 2011.
The white clutch bag is also from Alexander McQueen.
On her head she wore a beautiful tiara, which was definitely one of her favorites. Apart from being incredibly beautiful with all its diamonds and pearls, it may also have extra meaning for Kate because it once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
The tiara even has its own name: The Cambridge Lover’s Knot.
This tiara was created in 1914 based on a design by Queen Mary. Pearls and diamonds already belong to the royal family. In her will, Mary wrote that she wanted her granddaughter Elizabeth to take over the tiara.
In 1981, Queen Elizabeth bequeathed the tiara as a wedding gift to Diana when she married Prince Charles (70).
Now it is Diana’s daughter-in-law who can adorn herself with this more than 100 year old tiara.
