Temporary resting place
Not only has Britain got a new king, Prince Charles, 73, but his death also has consequences for her late husband, Prince Philip.
The prince died in April last year, aged 99. Next of kin then attended an intimate funeral, before he was buried in St George’s Chapel in Windsor, according to CBS News.
Now, however, he had to be moved. The reason was that the place where he was now, in the royal crypt below the Chapel of St. George, intended as a temporary solution.
His long term plan is for him to share the burial ground with his wife. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip share 73 years of living together.
Kate is not with Balmoral
Now that they are both dead, they will be reunited and share a burial ground in King George’s Chapel, which is located elsewhere in Windsor Castle, according to complainant.
That’s where the queen will be buried after the funeral.
They will also lie there with the Queen’s father, King George and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen’s mother, diaries), as well as the Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret.
Gather family
On Thursday Buckingham Palace issued a press release in which they expressed concern about the state of the Queen’s health. The next of kin were immediately notified, and were at the Queen’s side at Balmoral Castle on Thursday night.
The Queen’s children Prince Charles (73), Prince Andrew (62), Prince Edward (58) and Princess Anne (72) were at her side.
Grandchildren will also be there, including Prince William (40) and Prince Harry (37). However, Duchess Kate (40) and Duchess Meghan (40) were not present.
