Prince William (40) sat in the stands at Wembley Stadium as England beat Germany in the final of the Women’s European Championship last week.
Received millions from the bin Laden family
After the victory, the prince was on the soccer field to congratulate the new winners. While players have captured the hearts of the world with their success, some have been caught up in Prince William’s rare move.
Because while the prince congratulated most of the players with a handshake, there were some who got a real teddy bear hug. Among them is midfielder Jill Scott (35).
In retrospect, some have asked themselves why only a few players got hugs from the prince. The hug with Scott has a simple but funny explanation, says the England player BBC5 radio.
Have to pay to the nanny
The 35-year-old man knew the prince from before. They met when they both played a charity match ten years ago. Then something happened that Scott was unlikely to ever forget.
During the match, Scott finally slipped and tackled Prince William to the ground.
– It has become such that every time he meets us, he jokingly says: “No yellow card this tournament, Jill!”, The footballer previously said.
Royal summer vacation: – Often abroad
Scott, who plays for William’s favorite Aston Villa, was also able to reveal that the prince still has scars from a rough tackle.
Further in the interview, the soccer star joked about what he would ask the prince when they met again.
– Maybe I should ask him if I can come to Buckingham Palace the next time I see him?
Prince William is president of the English Football Association, and was in charge of handing over the trophy when England knocked Germany off the pitch in a 2-1 win.
