Red Hat rewards Council for improving technology services

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has today collected the Red Hat Digital Leaders Awards 2022 award in the Application Development category. The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Juan Alfonso Ruiz Molina, is responsible for receiving recognition at the Regional Center for Digital Innovation (CRID), where multinational companies work closely with other leaders in the technology sector.

The Junta de Comunidades received this award, which eventually reached companies at the level of BNP (Banque Nationale de Paris) and SEAT, for reducing development time and delivery of digital services for citizens of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as greater adaptability thanks to the adoption of hybrid cloud infrastructure agile and efficient based on microservices, using Red Hat Openshift technology.

The prize in the form of a check for 2,500 euros to an NGO will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

The awards are held annually in partnership with consultants IDC, Intel and Red Hat to recognize the most innovative projects that have used Red Hat’s technologies and services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The digital transformations carried out by regional Executives stand out in this award, where nominations have been submitted from countries such as the UK, Germany, Norway, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and others.

Juan Alfonso Ruiz Molina, Minister of Finance and Public Administration of Castilla-La Mancha, thanked those responsible for the award, who were present at the event, for their recognition. Likewise, Julia Bernal, Red Hat country manager for Spain and Portugal; José Antonio Cano, director of analysts at IDC Spain, and Agustín Gallego, director of Public Administration and Business Markets at Intel Corporation, stressed that one of the criteria when given was the ability to improve the lives of residents of Castilla-La Mancha, in this case through technological means.

Ruiz Molina recalls that Red Hat company was the first technology multinational company to settle in the Regional Center for Digital Innovation, by signing a protocol to work in a knowledge center on cloud technologies. All of this, said the counselor, “allows us to accelerate cloud implementation in the regional Administration, offering services that are more agile and more flexible.”

He also recalled that in less than two years, CRID had compiled a directory with 11 large multinational companies and with them regional companies to comply with digital protocols and modernize regional administration.

Ruiz Molina also announced that the local government has launched the digital project ‘Espacio Ciudadano’, which will allow the people of Castilian-La Mancha to have a digital portfolio to store all documents related to local administration. This, he said, is the local government’s “most symbolic” project in this area.
