Renate Reinsve and Anders Danielsen Lie have spent much of the year together promoting and attending awards ceremonies for Joachim Trier’s film “The World’s Worst Man”.
The film has been a success internationally, with Oscar nominations and a Cannes award for Reinsve, and domestically it was nominated for a total of nine Amanda awards and won five of them.
In August, it became known that the two would be starring in the new horror film “Håndtering av Udøde”, or “Handling the Undead”, which Variation write.
Different zombie movies
The action takes place on a hot summer day in Oslo, but from the description, there won’t be any great views of the capital. Because after all the electronics are broken, the ones who just died are suddenly resurrected, namely zombies.
TrustNordisk has secured the rights to the film, which was directed by feature film debutant Thea Hvistendahl.
– The goal is to make a zombie movie unlike anything we’ve seen before. Serious, heartbreaking and deeply Nordic, said TrustNordisk CEO Susan Wendt of the director’s vision.
Premiere in US
On Wednesday, it was announced that the film would be screened overseas. American distributor NEON has secured the rights to screenings in the US and UK.
The film is expected to premiere in the fall of 2023.
Director Hvistendahl told Variety that Anders Danielsen Lie has been a part of the project since 2019, and that Reinsve joined after he saw her audition over a year ago.
– I love the Worst People in the World and the work they did in that movie. “They are fantastic actors,” said Hvistendahl.
Other Norwegian players are Bjørn Sundquist and Bente Børsum.
