Had one show in Norway in September.

British stand-up comedian Ricky Gervais will come to Oslo on September 16 in connection with the world tour for his new show “Humanity”.

The comedian himself announced this on Twitter.

“Oslo! I’m coming and doing one show at their amazing indoor arena in September. Tickets go on sale from Friday at 10am,” Gervais wrote on Twitter.

The 55-year-old got his big break with the comedy series “The Office” in 2001. The series was a huge success and made Gervais one of the most popular comedians in the world. After that, the Englishman had great success with series such as “Extras” and “Derek”.

Throughout his career, this 55 year old man has never been afraid to perform well on stage. Among other things, he became a popular man in the United States after hosting the Golden Globes awards ceremony in 2010.

The Englishman’s opening speech did not offend one bit, if any, of Hollywood’s elite. Amazingly, the comedian was invited back by the Golden Globes to host the program for the next two years.

When Side3 interviewed Gervais in 2013, he was honest about who he insulted from the stage..

– You can joke about everything. I often think that I get the wrong criticism because I joke about topics that are considered taboo. Many people often confuse the target of a joke with the object used in the joke. The reality is the same, especially if the genre is satire and irony, Gervais said at the time.

“Humanity” is Gervais’ first stand-up performance since “Science” in 2009.

– After hearing Ricky’s views on religion and science on his previous show, we look forward to his thoughts on humanity on his new show “Humanity,” wrote Live Nation organizer Martin Nielsen in a press release.

The comedian was last in Norway in 2012. Then he held a kind of “best of” show with a mix of jokes from four previous stand-up shows. At that time, Norwegians came out of the house to get tickets and the show sold out in minutes.

– This is the first time he’s come to Oslo with a new show that people haven’t had the chance to watch to death on DVD and online. “We believe that the interest this time is just as great – if not greater,” said PR and marketing manager at Live Nation, Elise Eriksen Løssfeldt.

Tickets for the Sept. 16 show go on sale next Friday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices start from NOK 460 to NOK 805.
