After the decision Jrg Bucherer to sell your company without any direct descendants, Rolex decided to acquire a watch retailer that had until recently operated as an independent entity. This move reflects the Geneva brand’s desire to perpetuate Bucherer’s success and maintain the close association that has united the two companies since 1924.

For more than 90 years, the two companies have maintained a close collaboration that has enabled them to enhance each other’s achievements and growth. Rolex is currently one of the leading companies in the Swiss luxury watch sector. Bucherer will retain its name and continue to operate independently, while the group’s management team will remain unchanged. The integration of Bucherer into the Rolex group will become effective once the acquisition is approved by competition authorities.

The fruitful collaboration between Rolex and other authorized resellers in its sales network will not be affected in any way.

Rolex and Bucherer have a long common history. Bucherer has been an official Rolex reseller since 1924, and the professional relationship, bond of friendship and mutual respect between the two companies remains unchanged to this day. In fact, Jrg Bucherer was the last active person to know and work with Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex. Jrg Bucherer will retain his title as honorary president of the Bucherer group.
