Second Expo Becas 2023 will have more than 600 academic offerings

Guatemala City, August 17. (AGN). – From 22 to 28 August, the second Expo Becas 2023 will take place, at the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center.

The activity was announced this Thursday by the Presidential Secretary for Planning and Programming (Segeplan), Keila Gramajo, at its head office in zone 1 of the capital.

In this regard, he stated:

The second Scholarship Exhibition this year will last for seven days, which will have the support of 30 national and international cooperators.

Those interested can participate in person with the stalls at the National Theater and in a digital format where they can create an avatar to visit the booth.

Attention

The Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center square will be the stage where 30 national and international cooperators will present their scholarship offers for undergraduate, masters, doctoral and short specialization programmes.

The cooperator will guide interested parties on the requirements and processes they need to comply with, according to their individual cases.

The academic offer will cover engineering and technology, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts, design, architecture, and agricultural and veterinary sciences.

Guatemalan citizens are expected to have access to around 600 academic offerings.

Those who are interested can visit these stalls from 09.00 to 18.00.

First Scholarship Exhibition 2023

Last April, more than a thousand scholarships from more than 20 national and international cooperators were made available to Guatemalan youth and adults, for undergraduate, masters, doctoral and short specialization programs during the first Becas 2023 Expo, which took place on April 24. April 30th.

More than 10,000 young people and adults attended the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center, in Guatemala City. Of the total number of participants, 57% were women and 43% were men. It is hoped that this second edition will exceed the number of participants.

Alumni Forum

In addition, a forum panel was held with former scholarship holders from England, Walton Scholarships (USA), GuateFuturo and two scholarship holders from the National Trust for Scholarships and Educational Credit (Finabece), from Segeplan.

Former scholars explain the great value given by professionalism after receiving scholarships, both domestically and abroad.

The scholarships awarded from Segeplan seek to consolidate the recognition of education as an important element of the Government’s Public Policy. In addition, from a national priority, to promote social development and equal opportunities, so that it is consistent with being a responsible country.
