LATEST: Two people with knife wounds in Furuset are in critical condition, reports NTB.
Task leader Svein Arild Jørundland told the news agency just before 7pm on Monday night.
At 4:58 p.m., Oslo police wrote on Twitter that they were on the Furuset subway along with an ambulance following reports of a stabbing at the scene.
In an update some time later, they stated that the victim was seriously injured. The person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
– We have investigated the subway that ran away from the scene shortly after the incident. It has been allowed to run from Lindeberg, further into the city centre, they wrote.
Two events
The police are in the center of Furuset with great resources.
In the update, police wrote that they had contact with another person in an apartment in Furuset, who also had knife wounds.
– We are working to clarify whether these two cases have a connection, but preliminary investigations strengthen that theory.
Police received the first stabbing report at 4:42 p.m.
At 5:52 p.m. the police informed that preliminary investigations showed that the theory that there was a connection between the two knife victims found in the center of Furuset and in an apartment in Furuset had been strengthened.
No one was arrested as of 19.00.
young man
The operations leader at the scene, Svein Arild Jørundland, stated that the two injured were young men. He could say nothing more about their condition at 5:42 p.m.
The task leader could not comment on how many principals might be involved.
A little earlier this afternoon, police reported that they had received reports of a fight, or an attempt to do so.
No injured people were reported.
As a result, the subway was stopped so the police could clarify if anyone was involved.
Whether the incident was related to the two stabbing episodes is too early for police to say at this time.
