Mexico City, 27 Nov (EFE).- Spain’s Telefónica Tech this Monday appointed Rafael Arturo González as its new regional director for Mexico, who will be responsible for the cybersecurity, cloud services, internet of things, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity businesses.
“With this appointment, Telefónica Tech is committed to strengthening its unit in Mexico and continuing to be one of the company’s main partners in their digital transformation,” the Spanish company said in a statement.
To date, González was responsible for intercompany (B2B) business in Mexico and has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology sectors.
From this trajectory, the last 10 years were at Telefónica Movistar, where the focus was linked to the commercial field for small, medium and large companies.
Now, in his new responsibilities, González will be responsible for implementing and driving Telefónica Tech’s strategy in Mexico, as well as managing operations, growing the business and coordinating Telefónica Tech’s team in the country.
“I am very proud to be part of a company leading in digital transformation and to be able to help Mexican companies with our technology become more efficient and competitive,” said Telefónica Tech’s new director for Mexico, according to the bulletin.
González assured that a strong security operations center (COS) in Mexico will position the Spanish company and strengthen it as a reference partner for all organizations seeking to digitize securely.
Telefónica Tech has a COS and various digital operations centers that deal with cybersecurity issues and the application of technology for the digital transformation of companies.
Telefónica Tech’s global team consists of more than 6,200 professionals from 28 different nationalities and holds more than 4,000 certifications in third-party technologies.
It has a strategic presence in Spain, the United Kingdom, Central Europe (DACH), the Adriatic and Nordic regions, the United States, Brazil and Latin America.
In addition, it claims to have a broad portfolio of technology solutions to accompany companies in their digital transformation. Telefónica Tech offers its services through Movistar Empresas, a Telefónica brand.
