Edvald Boasson-Hagen’s contract with TotalEnergies is expiring, but the 36-year-old is clear he wants to continue cycling after this year’s season.

– I’m thinking of continuing for a few more years. “My contract is up, but I hope it will be done soon,” Boasson-Hagen told Danish TV 2 before Monday’s performance at the Critérium du Dauphiné.

The veteran wants the Uno-X.

– It’s a very good team, and I hope to do it, but we’ll see what Jens (Haugland) wants. I’m at least ready to talk to him, Boasson-Hagen said.

– I’m fine in my team now, but Uno-X has an interesting team, so I wanted to talk to Jens, he added.

Uno-X boss Jens Haugland appreciates Boasson-Hagen’s words.

– First of all, it’s great that someone of Edvald’s caliber speaks like that. Then the Uno-X will add solitaire as teams will be formed with young and old riders, so it’s a “complicated” solitaire, Haugland told TV 2.

– The door is narrow, but we will get wiser in the coming weeks, so we hope that going into the Tour de France we know what we will look like in 2024, continued the Uno-X boss.

Boasson-Hagen and Haugland confirmed they had spoken a little.

– Edvald is a guy I really respect, and he’s a great guy who has done amazing things for Norwegian cycling, but we’ll see. That must be true, said Haugland.
