The British government warned of possible delays and queues at major airports from England during Christmas holidays, if walking ahead immigration and customs agents went on strike scheduled between December 23 and 31.
“If you go on strike, you can’t deny it there will be serious upheaval for the thousands of people with travel plans”said conservative Interior Minister Suella Braverman.
“It is unfortunate that they have taken the decision (to strike) at such a critical moment before and after Christmas and New Year,” he added.

Braverman urged residents to “rethink” their vacation plans “because they might be affected.”
The Minister confirmed it It plans to use the Army, which has no right to strike, to supply some of the passport control points and other types, but warns that even with that there will be delays.
“The priority is to keep the border secure,” he told the media.
One thousand employees of the British Border Force in charge of customs and immigration control at UK airports called an eight-day strike over the Christmas period in protest at their wages and working conditions.

Secretary General of the Union of Public and Commercial Services (PCS), Mark Serwotka, announced that the strike would take place between 23 and 31 December (except the 27th) at London Heathrow and Gatwick airports, Manchester (northern England), Birmingham (centre) and Cardiff in Welsh.
This same union simultaneously declared a strike among its members working in the Ministry of Work and Pensions, the Highway Agency and driving inspectors.
This is in addition another strike scheduled in the coming weeks in the UK, especially between utility worker, such as teachers, nurses, ambulance drivers and railroad employees.
