The UK’s new military aid package to Ukraine includes the MSI-DS Terrahawk Paladin anti-drone system

The British government has announced that it will send a new military aid package to Ukraine, along with the possibility of reaching a new agreement on air defence. This was announced by the British Ministry of Defense in an official statement yesterday.

This new military aid from England reached a value of IDR 122,000,000 which will be provided with money from the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU). The package is expected to help the armed forces clear minefields, maintain their combat vehicles and strengthen defense fortifications to protect critical national infrastructure.

The latest contract signing of the IFU air defense capability package will result in the supply of more than $85 million in capabilities to Ukraine, including the MSI-DS Terrahawk Paladin air defense system, a platform that can track and destroy drones and protect critical infrastructure. . These remotely controlled, reusable modules are used to defend against ground, air and maritime threats at close range. This aircraft is installed on the NATO standard DROPS (Demountable Rack Offload and Pickup System) system which can be used on the ground and operated remotely.

As explained in the document, the IFU was launched by the UK and Denmark in 2022, collaborating with Ukraine to acquire capabilities that best meet the needs of its armed forces. Since then, five other countries have contributed to the IFU, demonstrating the resolve of allies and partners in supporting Ukraine.

The announcement came after the prime minister, Rishi Sunak, met with President Zelenskyy at the European Political Community in Grenada last week. The President of Ukraine has stated that air defense is Ukraine’s most pressing need, and Terrahawk Paladin will help provide Ukraine with what it needs to protect its citizens from Russian missiles.
