They found gems in the depths of the Titanic, more than 100 years after its sinking

The new discovery in the wreckage of the Titanic comes 111 years after it sank, when a deep-sea mapping company discovered a gem.

Magellan Ltd. is a company based on the island of Guernsey that invented a necklace made of megalodon teeth with embedded gold pieces.

Since the shipwreck that occurred in 1912, an expedition was carried out to investigate the remains of the ship which is located at a depth of 4,000 meters in the Atlantic Ocean.

The project consisted of sending a controlled submarine to take pictures from all angles of the Titanic. Finally, around 700,000 pictures were taken over 200 hours, according to British newspaper the Daily Mail.

“We found a necklace-shaped megalodon tooth, unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable,” Magellan director Richard Parkinson told ITV News, a British television channel.

He described the find as “amazing, beautiful and impressive.”

Magellan was looking for a possible heir to the necklace, so they attempted to find the relatives of the 2,200 passengers who were on the Titanic with the help of artificial intelligence, according to Spanish media outlet 20 Minutes.

Despite the fact that the finds were made thanks to Magellan Ltd., the company was prohibited from using the finds made there after signing agreements with the United States and Great Britain.
