This is how the royal year 2023 will look like: The big days line up

Crown Princess Metter-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon have a lot to look forward to in 2023. They won’t just be turning 50 in the summer. In December, their dearest son, Prince Sverre Magnus, turns 18.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused a number of major celebrations at European royal houses to be cancelled, postponed or toned down.

2023 looks set to be a year of royal celebrations. A number of major events will be marked.

50th anniversary of the Crown Prince couple

In Norway, it is perhaps the 50th anniversary of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit that will probably receive the most attention.

The crown prince’s birthday is on July 20, while the crown princess follows on August 19.

There is speculation whether the crown prince couple will combine their anniversary celebrations, but in Her og Nå’s experience, it is more likely that the two will mark the day separately.

Likewise when both turned 40 in 2013. Then the crown prince celebrated with his own music festival with royal guests from across Europe in the garden of his home in Skaugum, while his wife contented with smaller celebrations with family. and friends.

Sverre Magnus is 18 years old

The royal court kept its cards close to its chest regarding the crown prince couple’s 50th birthday celebrations, but it is unlikely the celebrations will be anything like when King Harald (85) and Queen Sonja (85) turned 50 in 1987.

The then Crown Prince was celebrated with a gala dinner at the Royal Palace, while Queen Sonja was honored with her own ball performance at the National Theatre.

Haakon and Mette-Marit’s 50th birthdays weren’t the only two important dates in the crown prince’s family this year. On December 3, the youngest member of the family, Prince Sverre Magnus, turns 18.

On September 15, Prince Daniel also turns 50, but due to his father-in-law’s celebration, his birthday party has to be arranged at a different time.
