Is checked that sounds of nature: such as running water from a river or waterfall, chirping birds, rustling leaves… help reduce pain and stress and also serve to improve mood and cognitive performance. Fortunately, thanks to technology, today we can reproduce it even in the middle of the biggest, noisiest and most polluted cities. Even if what you’re after is variety and realism, this site pick up how does the world forest sound on interactive map.

Because every forest has its own voice, British producer National Forest and the Timber Festival, an arts festival held in the woods of Great Britain, designed this listening experience during the worst of the pandemic with the aim of creating emotional connection between humans and nature.

So, in May 2020 asked netizens from all over the world to record the sound of the nearby forest and have them sent. As such, the map has been updated as more and more audio arrives.

Representing Spain, we can find the sounds of five forests: the Parque de la Acebera in Lugones, the Fréas de Eiras in Ourense, the forest in Salamanca, El Retiro in Madrid and Sa Caleta in Ibiza. However, With one click we can go in a second from Sorreisa in Norway to the forests of Spes Bona in South Africa.
