Uber wants to be a “Super app” for travel: launching flight reservations

While some tech giants like Google have backed off from foraying into flight bookings, others are loving it uber forge ahead in their intention to become a The “super app” for travel reservations.

The San Francisco company will include a possible UK version book national and international flights starting in summer. This is done through a partnership with the Hopper company.

Andrew Brem, Uber’s general manager in the UK, has explained to the Financial Times, that it is the “latest and most ambitious step” in its strategy to expand the app into a full-fledged travel booking platform. In fact, Uber has already implemented reservations in the UK for bus, boat, train tickets on the national network, and Eurostar travel.

With this strategy they intend funnel more users to your core business: transportation in a vehicle, with a focus on transfers to airports or stations.
