The British Intelligence Service stated this Wednesday that Ukraine had achieved “tactical success” in the framework of the fighting around the town of Bakhmut, in Donetsk province, after announcing the capture of the towns of Andrivka and Klishchivka.

“Since September 15, 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have controlled the towns of Klishchivka and Andrivka, about eight kilometers south of Bakhmut,” they said, before adding that “this tactical success brought Ukrainian forces to the T 05-13 highway, one of the main supply routes to Bakhmut from the south.”

However, they highlighted that “Russia continues to maintain control over the railway line passing through the dam between Klishchivka and T 05-13, thereby creating a defensible barrier”, as reported by the British Ministry of Defense through a statement published on its account. on the social network X, previously known as Twitter.

Finally, the British Intelligence Service stated that “the recent deployment of Russian airborne troops to Zaporizhzhia from Bakhmut has likely weakened Russian defenses around Bakhmut.”
