The storm dubbed “The Ogre from Oslo” is feared to hit Britain on Monday. It writes Mirrorcites the British Meteorological Institute.
“Ogre” are man-eating giants from mythology and fairy tales.
The storm coming from Norway will “devastate” Great Britain in the north on Monday, the paper said, and will continue inland on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Slippery roads and traffic chaos are expected, be warned British Meteorological Institute.
Britain can expect minus 16 degrees and winds in excess of 60 knots, which is described as a strong storm, according to the Mirror.
This isn’t the first time a storm coming from Norway has been named a monster.
Before the New Year, the storm is called “Troll from Trondheim”.
– I don’t know if it’s because they ran out of names, Åse Børset told Dagbladet with a laugh.
He has written a book about trolls in Trollheimen together with nature manager Gøran Bolme. They run the company in Trollheimen in Trondheim.
There is a “troll wave” now that the Netflix film Troll was released in December last year, said Børset.
The series is set in Norway, and connects trolls to the mountainous area of Jotunheimen.
– Trolls are seen as large, dangerous, and fearsome creatures, just like in mythology. That’s how they’re portrayed in Netflix movies, too. So it’s no wonder there are rumors about what they could do, says Børset and continues:
– Lots of trash
– But I don’t share the same opinion about them. They are depicted as more dangerous than they are. They are true stewards of nature, and thanks to them, among other things, Trollheimen is so green and lush, says Børset.
