“After seeing An extraordinary adventure [el drama de Ang Lee de 2013] , we realized that ultimately we could recreate animals in a photorealistic way, making it impossible to differentiate between visual effects and real life. That’s when we realized we had an opportunity to reinvent this universe,” said co-producer Scholey Keith (Our planet), in an interview with Geek’s Den.

Creation of prehistoric creatures for Life on Our Planet This is a very thorough process and involves close collaboration with scientific experts. Tom Fletcher, principal researcher, and other consultants helped select approximately 65 creatures based on their relevance to the narrative. Each creature is supported by a 60-page “data file” that includes the latest fossil evidence and techniques such as “phylogenetic clustering” to inform its design and behavior.
