XPO Logistics formalizes the acquisition of part of Kuehne + Nagel’s UK business

XPO Logistics expands its portfolio in the UK. The logistics company has formalized the acquisition of part of the assets of German logistics operator Kuehne + Nagel. With this, the company has 248 locations and 26,000 employees.

The company announced the sale of most of its assets in the UK and Ireland last March, in its real estate divestment strategy and focus on the profitability of its centers. The number of operations has not been disclosed.

At the moment, This German company, directed by Detlef Trefzger, is present in 109 countries and has transportation solutions by air, sea and land. In addition, Kuehne + Nagel has specialized transportation for perishable goods and for the health and pharmaceutical sectors.

For this part, XPO Logistics has 80 centers in Spain, and more than 2,500 workshops in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. In 2018, the delegation had a turnover of 716 million euros and was ranked the fourth country in the world for XPO Logistics.
