Zelensky travels to France in a new stop on his European tour

MADRID, May 14th. (EUROPEAN PRESS) –

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, will travel this Sunday evening to France in a new stop on his European tour after trips to Italy and Germany.

Zelensky will be received tonight at the Velizy-Villacoublay military and presidential airport by the country’s Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, and Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna.

The French presidency has reported that French President Emmanuel Macron will receive Zelenski at the Élysée Palace, where a gala dinner will be held to “continue and deepen their dialogue of faith”.

“While the country continues to be the target of bombing, especially civilian infrastructure, the President of the Republic will reiterate the unwavering support of France and Europe to restore Ukraine’s legitimate rights and defend its fundamental interests,” Elíseo stressed.

They will also discuss “the support that France continues to provide in response to Ukraine’s urgent military and humanitarian needs.” “The two presidents will also be able to exchange views on the long-term prospects for the return of peace to Europe, in particular based on the peace plan proposed by President Zelensky, which France supports,” the French Presidency added. .

This will be Zelenski’s second visit to Paris since the start of the Russian invasion of his country in February 2022. Emmanuel Macron had received him on 8 February at the Élysée Palace, together with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
