The government will announce the action tomorrow “Malvinas’ 40th Anniversary Agenda” that, under the motto “Malvinas unites us” and with the criteria of “federal and multidimensional”, will be organized throughout the year by a commission set up by the president Alberto Fernandez to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the 1982 war, during which efforts were made to restore the archipelago, which was captured by the British in 1833.
“The purpose of this agenda is to honor those who died in the South Atlantic War and to recognize ex-combatants, war veterans from Malvinas and his relatives,” explained the secretary Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic, Guillermo Carmona.
In an interview with Telam Agency, the official asserted that “also to provide visibility to the Malvinas Question”, as the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and Britain referred to in diplomacy, which is at the United Nations (UN), “at both national, regional and international levels, highlighting historical titles, legal, geographic and geopolitical” that accredits Argentine ownership.

Carmona detailed that all activities and events will be informatively centered on the special website of the Secretariat of Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic, to be announced tomorrow, at 18 pm, at the Museum Malvinas.
At this point, he pointed out that the agenda was drafted, under his coordination, by the Chief of Staff (Media Secretariat) and eight ministries: the Chancellor; Defend; Education; Science, Technology and Innovation; Culture, Tourism and Sports; Justice and Human and Domestic Rights.

Since the restoration of democracy in 1983, successive governments have struggled to resume sovereignty negotiations, but the UK has opposed it, ignoring the annual resolutions of the United Nations in that regard.
