Snapchat is launching Ghost Phone this Thursday, July 28, the first augmented reality (AR) game on the platform, which offers an interactive experience where players must know whose phone is found.
This title introduces a new genre of narrative gaming and, thanks to this technology, enables surface recognition, combined with an application lens during game development.
In particular, Ghost Phone has been developed using Snap’s own technologies: the web-first game engine, Playcanvas and Lens Studio, to take advantage of the scanning solution.
To access this game just need to search for its name in Lens Explorer and cracked the password to turn on the Phantom Phone.
Clues must then be found in text messages and data. and thus unlocks a new camera mode to be able to capture AR ghosts.
Snap recalls that currently more than 200 million people use AR on the platform every day, with an average of 6,000 million daily uses.
He also highlighted that more than a quarter million creators have created more than 2.5 million lenses that have been viewed 3.5 billion times.
