About 15 were burned by flares during the cup final

The Red Cross stated on Twitter that they had treated around 15 people for burns caused by a flare during the cup final in Ullevål between Brann and Lillestrøm.

Thirty-two of the 27,000 spectators received assistance from volunteers from the relief corps, according to the Red Cross.

– The message I received from our volunteers is that this is a watch of calm, given the fact that so many people were present at Ullevaal, said corps leader Anahita Panjwani at the Oslo Red Cross.

The operations manager at the Oslo police, Alexander Østerhaug, told TV 2 that they had been alerted to the incident.

– As far as we know, the injured were treated by on-site health workers. We haven’t received any feedback on the extent of the damage, said Østerhaug.

The operations manager did not know if anyone had been taken to the hospital. TV 2 has contacted Oslo University Hospital, which would not say whether they had received any injured people.

Oslo Police will now investigate the case further.

– It is not allowed to use beacons in Norwegian football stadiums, so here there will be another dialogue between the police and the organizers to follow up on what happened, said Østerhaug.

Despite the flare incident, police say that the cup final went quietly and peacefully. Both before, during and after.

Brann emerged victorious from the cup final 2-0 over Lillestrøm.
