Be informed about drones: – Closed two airports

FINAL: At 21:41, Avinor reported that the airspace at both airports had reopened.

– We can confirm that drones have been observed from the plane that took off from Sola airport last night. This led to air traffic controllers closing the airport, spokesman Avinor Harald Kvam told Dagbladet earlier on Sunday.

He stated that Haugesund Airport was also closed as a result of observation.

– That’s because it was observed so high, so we don’t know where it is, said Kvam.

– How close is the drone to the reporting aircraft?

– I have not received any information that there is a danger in transit for the plane.

Kvam said surveillance is now a police matter, and they are cooperating with local police. He referred to the police district in charge for further comment.

The Sør-west police district wrote on Twitter that the drone was being observed by the control tower.

It was VG who mentioned closing the airspace over Sola first.

– Very quiet

Dagbladet had been in contact with a man in his 50s who was supposed to catch the Flyr’s departure from Sola to Oslo at 8:35 p.m. The plan shifted greatly.

– We have been informed that the airspace is closed due to irregularities, the company has informed us that we can expect to land in Oslo around this evening, the man said.

– Is there any unrest among the passengers at the airport?

– Very calm, he replied.

Police: Hard to follow

Operations manager in the Sør-West police district, Irene Ragnhildstveit, told Dagbladet that police have not been able to obtain follow-up observations from the drones to some extent, and thus don’t have many leads to go through. .

– We wait and see if there are any new messages. “As of now, we have no more to go on,” said Ragnhildstveit.

– Can you say something about how the police handled this case?

– When we don’t see anything, it’s kind of hard. “We’ve tried looking for it, but until now there’s nothing left to look for,” he replied.

Ragnhildstveit further stated that they were notified of the incident at 19.30
