Britain confirms delivery of cruise missiles to Ukraine

Britain’s Defense Minister confirmed on Thursday that the country was delivering long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine.

This is what Storm Shadow looks like. It has a wingspan of three meters and weighs 1.3 tons. The explosives weigh 450 kilograms.

Several Western officials had announced this some time before CNN that Britain must send missiles that have a range of up to 250 kilometers.

British authorities are said to have received assurances that the missile would only be used on Ukrainian territory and would not be fired at targets in Russia.

In recent weeks, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and Secretary of State James Cleverly were in the US for talks on support for Ukraine.

Britain and other Western countries have increased military aid to Ukraine in the past year.

In February, Britain promised to deliver 14 Challenger 2 tanks. Other countries also offered tanks and fighter jets in the fight against the Russian invasion.

A group of European countries led by Britain recently asked arms manufacturers to indicate whether they would be interested in supplying missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers, but Britain said it had not yet made a final decision on supplying the weapons.
