Britain distanced itself from Guaido and reversed the position it took in 2019

Caracas.- The British government sent a letter to the Court of Appeal to overturn the position it took in 2019 regarding self-proclaimed Juan Guaido.

Via his Twitter account, Deputy Minister for Anti-Blockade Policy, William Castillo, attached a letter announced this Tuesday sent by the UK Government’s Legal Department to Judge Justice Cockerill.

The document recounts the position held by Britain since February 2019 when it declared its recognition of Juan Guaido as the “interim president” of Venezuela, reports AVN.

“During today’s hearing, a letter sent by the British Government to the Court of Appeal was released, stating that ‘Your Excellency”s position regarding Guaido’s confession is no longer the same as it was in March 2020,” Castillo reported.

The British government acknowledged that in January 2023 the 2015 National Assembly, something it also did not exist but the UK acknowledged, dissolved Guaido’s presidency and that the British government respects that decision, Castillo explained while reviewing texts on social networks. .

The charade collapses

Similarly, the Undersecretary referred to that communications to the court showing that “the letter to the Court of March 19, 2020 no longer reflects the position of His Majesty’s Government”, that is, Guaido is no longer recognized as “president” and, “the joke fell out”, he highlighted.

“The position of the British Government, which was used as an argument by law firm Guaido (Arnold & Porter), cites the One Voice Doctrine, which holds that in foreign policy matters the British empire can only have one position and that is the only one. determined by the Government”, Castillo quoted.

The title of Queen Elizabeth II was ratified on March 19, 2020. “From then on, good Gob. Boris Johnson and others argue that the Court should not look into the issue of who rules, but should take a 10 Downing Street position,” he said.

“What will happen now? Judge Cockerill will have to decide whether to continue to accept the group of so-called ‘BCV ad hoc’ criminals mentioned by Guaido as part of the trial. Will one more stage of delirium come in this legal and criminal absurdity? The story will continue …”, added Castillo.

Earlier this Tuesday, the Undersecretary for Anti-Blockade Policy reported that a new London Court of Appeal hearing into the UK’s sequestered gold case was underway.
