British schools were closed due to poor conditions

More than 150 schools in England have been ordered to close their buildings because they are deemed unsafe.

This incident occurred shortly before the new school year started in England, sparking anger among parents and teachers.

– Authorities have wasted months of precious time hiding this crisis, time they could have spent fixing unsafe school buildings, said union leader Mike Short of the Unison union.

156 schools were covered by the UK Ministry of Education’s decision to close school buildings due to the danger of collapse.

This has further worsened the condition of the UK school system, which is still trying to recover from the impact of school closures during the pandemic. This year, schools were also affected by the six-month school strike.

The suggestion that school facilities are collapsing adds to a series of challenges in the schools and education sector for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ahead of next year’s election.

Education Minister Gillian Keegan stressed that school building closures did not mean pupils could not come to school as this was mostly the case in smaller buildings. But in some cases, this applies to the entire school.
