Culture and entertainment, Hønefoss | Rebekka (28) continued on Eurovision: – It hurts so bad

– Oh my God, that’s so sickening, Hønefoss’ Rebekka Norvik posted on her Instagram shortly after Norway’s performance in the semifinals of the Eurovision I Song Contest in Liverpool on Tuesday night.

She dances and sings for Norwegian artist Alessandra Mele.

In some living rooms at homes in the Hønefoss area, a few dance students from the Performing School sit and cross their fingers. They could all cheer when Norway was announced as a finalist.

– I’d rather faint

Eurovision Norway hopes that Alessandra and the team will have to wait until the end to find out that they are in the final. Norway was placed in the last round, which was deemed favorable, wrote NTB.

Norway is the tenth country to be read out after Tuesday’s semi-final, and thus Alessandra and the Norwegian TV audience are kept on the torture bench for as long as possible.

– Me, the dancers and the team love fainting the most, and all the other awful things you can do when you’re nervous – that I’m not going to talk about here in front of you, said Alessandra at a press conference after the semi-finals.

– That’s terrible. I thought, “That was great, until now. We did our best.” And then they said Norwegian, and… Ah! said the Norwegian artist.

Second round

After the draw, it is clear that Rebekka and Alessandra will appear in the second round of the final on Saturday.

– Let’s do the second round, commented Alessandra.

The Norwegian team performed “Queen of Kings”, which Alessandra co-wrote with Henning Olerud, Stanley Ferdinandez and Linda Dale.

– It was a real kick to kick off Eurovision in front of a wild crowd here in Liverpool and in front of millions of TV viewers at home. The atmosphere is electric, said Alessandra via NRK’s press contact after standing on stage as the first artist.

Close cry

Johan Patrick Bredesen, a reporter for Eurovision Norway at Liverpool, described the wait as “absolutely awful”.

– I don’t think I’ve ever been so close to starting to laugh as when there was one nation left to read aloud. People gathered around us and said that everything would be fine, he told NTB.

– When Norway advanced, there was an unparalleled euphoria that was released. It was an amazing feeling. It can hardly be compared to anything, he continued.

The order of countries is read randomly and not based on results.

– We have to take comfort in the fact that this does not mean that we are tenth in the semifinals. We can be number three, said Bredesen.

Don’t look at it any better

Morten Thomassen, club president of Norway’s MGP, was impressed by Tuesday night’s performance.

– He did a great job, delivered the goods, focused on his work and started the party in a great way, Thomassen told NTB before the vote.

– This is the best I’ve ever seen. It will work, he continued, and he was right.

One of the big favorites, Sweden’s Loreen, also advanced to the final with “Tattoo”.

The second semifinal begins on Thursday, while the final on Saturday. The 20 countries that advanced from the two semifinals, as well as Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Ukraine, participated in the final.
