Disappointing message: Determines that spring weather is not coming

Meteorologists in charge of the Meteorological Institute dismissed hopes of spring weather and said the next week could offer plenty of gray weather.

Everyone looking forward to spring weather with sunshine and favorable temperatures should be patient, according to the Meteorological Institute.

– In southern Norway, a frontal system will enter in the next few days, which will cause precipitation in the form of rain, hail and snow, explains the meteorologist on duty Iselin Skjervagen.

In the north, by contrast, there will be a significant amount of sunshine over the next few days, but low temperatures that may creep towards the minus-degree double-digit mark.

– It will be fun north of Trøndelag for the next few days. There will be plenty of sun, but also patches of snow in between. On the other hand, it will be quite cold, although the sun will certainly help a bit, Skjervagen told NTB.

Temperatures will be a few degrees plus for the next few days in the south of the country, punctuated with good rainfall.

– There will be some rain along the coast and some snow in the highlands in the next few days. In some areas there will be a longer stay, but there is no doubt that the next few days will look gray.

– It’s hopeless spring weather now?

No sign of spring weather at this time. Unfortunately, I can state that spring weather is yet to come.

However, that could change towards the end of the week and the start of the following week in southern Norway, according to the meteorologist.

– At the beginning of next week, there will be more sun throughout the country, but there will also be rainfall. At the same time, we see that low temperatures will persist in the north of the country, while in the south of Norway they will remain at approximately the same level as they are now.

In the north of the country there will be excellent opportunities for skiing, but Skjervagen warns of the avalanche danger in the mountains.

– There is a significant avalanche risk in the north of the country, so everyone who is going to climb the mountains should know this.
